INZ – New Online Visa Applications

Immigration NZ (INZ)  advised that on 6 May 2018 online visa applications were going live for partners and dependent children of New Zealand citizens or visa holders. This is great news and has long been awaited, certainly by our team.

This means:

• We can submit an entire family’s applications online at the same time.
• We can use digital documentation for family members rather than having to arrange original or certified copies of documents.
• It will minimise the need to courier passports and original documents to INZ (though INZ will sometimes still require a passport at a branch to be scanned and verified).
• It will allow for all applications to be decided at the same time, thus giving more certainty around travel dates for families wanting to travel to NZ together.

We have several clients already keen to wait for the roll out of the online family applications for the added convenience it should bring and we look forward to testing the interface of the new online applications.
